George William LeForce, born December 21st, 1941. George passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, surrounded by his family, and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.
George attended Williamsburg high school where he played the East West all star game and was also a McDonald All American and in later years he was awarded the Kentucky Colonial by Judge Blaine Phillips.
George graduated from Cumberland College in 1965 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. He was a Physical Education teacher of McCreary County School District and retired after 27 years. He was a known basketball player during his years at Cumberland College. He later coached at McCreary County High School.
George is survived by his wife, Thelma Wilder LeForce of sixty years, Brother, Alan; Daughters, Leah Reed and husband John of Owenton, KY. Marianne Wright and husband Scott of Oneida, TN. Grandchildren, Alexandria LeForce-Seibert and husband Jeff, Alexis Williams and husband Matthew, Halle and Mia Wright; Great Grandchildren, Eden Williams. Special thank you to our in home care givers Doris, Dwayne and Sandra who have become part of our family.
He is preceded in death by; Parents, Harold and Thelma LeForce; Sister, Phyllis Reiser brother in law David Reiser, Brothers, Larry, and Herman LeForce and sister in law Shirley LeForce.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 in the chapel of the Hickman Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Bullens officiating.
Committal service followed in the Tuggle cemetery in Williamsburg, KY. Pallbearers will be: Larry LeForce, Eddie LeForce, Tony LeForce, Jeff LeForce, Scott Wright and John Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Reiser, Reed Graham, Matt Wilder, Jeff Seibert, Ray Moncrief, Ray Moncrief, Jr. Sed Sanderson, Matt Williams, Dwayne Corder and Buddy West.
Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home was honored to serve the family of George LeForce.
