Barbara Ann LeForce of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the age of 77. Barbara was born in
Vivian, Louisiana, on November 1, 1945, the daughter of Robert and Juanita Grace. Being born so close to Halloween, Barbara sometimes shared her birthday with the trick-or-treaters that would visit her home.
Barbara was a fiercely independent woman, insisting on caring for herself until she was no longer physically capable. Barbara never wanted to feel like a burden to anyone in her life.
Barbara had a deep love for horses. She spent many days at the barn with her beloved horses, along with friends who shared her passion. Being with horses brought Barbara deep joy. Along with her horses, she loved her Australian Shepherd, Thunder, and spent her days letting him in and out of the house what seemed like hundreds of times daily. Thunder will continue to be spoiled, adored, and let in and out of the house for his remaining years.
Barbara spent over 20 years working at Jack's Service Company and several years after that working in the warehouse for O'Reilly Auto Parts. She was a hard worker who took pride in being on time, never missing a day of work, and doing the best job possible. Throughout her career, she was awarded often and won every prize at her company Christmas parties, much to the dismay of her co-workers. After retiring, she spent her days with her horses until she could no longer physically ride. At that point, she enjoyed spending her time visiting with family, going to the casino, or staying home to watch her favorite shows on the ID channel, which were lovingly referred to as her "murder shows". She also loved watching the OU Sooners play football and the OKC Thunder play basketball. This year, her teams are going to win it all for her, their loving fan.
Barbara had three children, Alicia Stewart of
Booneville, Arkansas, David Stewart of
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mistye Kelly of
Moore, Oklahoma. She met the love of her life while working at McDonald's. Barbara married James LeForce in 1979 and lived a happy life with him. She liked to say that James entering her life was a blessing from God that taught her the meaning of true, unconditional love. They were married for 38 years before James passed away on June 9, 2017. There was not a day that passed that she did not think of James and await their reunion in Heaven.
Barbara's previously departed loved ones include her beloved husband, mother and father, her sister Mary, and her bonus son Everett and his wife Elizabeth.
Barbara is survived by her three children, Alicia, David and his spouse Debbie, and Mistye and her husband Frankey, her bonus children Louis and his wife Lori, Jeanette, and Michelle, her sister, Eva Nell, and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
