George E. Moomaw Jr., 78, of Kinde, passed away the morning of Christmas Eve 2024 in his home.
George was born in Mt. Clemens to the late George E. Moomaw Sr. and Jennie (Forsyth) Moomaw. He was a recent resident of Lake Township, formerly a longtime resident of New Baltimore. George was very happy to have moved into the country. He was amazed at the quiet, often saying "Do you hear that?" No, what? "Nothing!" He accomplished a lifelong dream of earning his pilot's license, doing so at the age of 65.
He is survived by his wife Martha, recently celebrating 58 years of marriage; his children Janet (Jon) Saxton, Robert, Daniel (Julie) and Debora (Brian) Jurvis; grandchildren Kyle, Kaitlyn, David, Brendan, Brett, Allison, Andrew, Heather Grace and Gabriel; great-granddaughters Danika and Dakota with one on the way; sister Janice; sister-in-law Beatrice; brothers-in-law Donald (Sue), Thomas (Jo), Larry (Peggy); several nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by sisters Barbara and Joyce and granddaughter Ashleigh.
A memorial mass will be 10:30am Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 68035 Main Street, Richmond, Michigan. Visitation 10-10:30 before the service at the church.
