From a young age, he demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, helping on the family farm and earning the title of "Most Athletic" from Acton-Boxboro Regional High School. His dedication to his family and responsibilities was evident even then, as he spent the summer after graduation ensuring the farm was prepared for the winter before heading off to serve his country.

George began his law enforcement career in 1968 as a patrolman with the Acton Police Department. He was promoted to sergeant in 1973 and, in 1983, became the Chief of Police, a position he held with distinction until his retirement in 1999. As Chief, George led with integrity, fairness, and a deep sense of duty to the community. He was known for his "fair but firm" approach, earning the respect and trust of his colleagues and residents alike.
Under his leadership, the Acton Police Department achieved national accreditation for its proactive approach to community policing and its commitment to public safety. Chief Robinson was also a staunch advocate for vulnerable populations, championing initiatives that supported individuals with disabilities and promoting animal welfare.
After retiring from the Acton Police Department, George transitioned into a successful second career as a salesperson at Acton Ford in
Acton, Massachusetts, where he became one of their top performers for many years.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, George remained a farmer at heart. In his retirement, he took up gardening, finding joy and peace in working the land. He cherished his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, as well as his close relationship with his cousins. His humor and wit brightened the lives of those around him, and his love for animals reflected his deep compassion.
George is survived by his devoted wife, Valerie (Morgan) Robinson, and his beloved children, Kelly Robinson and Jeffrey Robinson (Kate Robinson), from his first marriage, as well as George M. Robinson and Rachel (Robinson) Petith (Joshua Petith), with Valerie. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Joseph Robinson, Lilly Robinson, and Connor Petith, along with his extended family, including siblings, cousins, and dear friends.
George W. Robinson's life was one of service-to his family, his country, his community, and those in need.
