He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on December 12, 1934. George attended Oak Park River Forest High School and University of Illinois.
After serving in the US Army in Germany George married Mary Ann. They built their home together in Schiller Park in 1961 where they raised three children. George and Mary Ann moved to Bartlett in 1995 and then to Addison in 2020.
He was a self-employed Civil Engineer for over 40 years before retirement. George is survived by his wife Mary Ann (nee Scherer); his children George (Karen), Gary (Tiffany), and Karen (Brian) Rathje; his grandchildren Lauren, Cody (Leann), George, Elizabeth (Bobby) Simmons, Daniel, Brian and KellyAnne.
George was predeceased by his parents Ethan Allen and Rose May (nee Classen) and brothers Allen (Lois) and Willard (Charlotte).
Visitation Friday August 2, 2024 10:00am-12:00pm followed by Service at Michaels Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL. Interment St. Michael Cemetery, Palatine, IL.
