George Sauer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 7, 2025.
George Darrell Sauer ("Buddy"), 88, passed away on May 26, 2025, in Houston, TX. He was born on June 22, 1936, in Houston to Carl William Sauer Sr. and Vivian Taylor Sauer. He is survived by his wife Beatrice King Sauer ("Bea"); daughter Amy Elise Sauer; brother Carl William Sauer, Jr. ("Bill"); granddaughter Israel Selena Dellamas; grandson Jeffery Tyler Hughes; great granddaughters Solmara Ruby Dellamas-Belcomo & Rowan Kay Hughes and numerous family members and friends.
Buddy served a short stint in the Navy and later earned a B.S. degree in Radio and Television from the University of Houston. He then worked as a cameraman for Channel 13 (ABC). Following his time at Channel 13, he worked for Brown & Root, traveling to Iran and Bahrain. After leaving Brown & Root, Buddy worked at Lockheed and Boeing on NASA-related projects for over 20 years.
Buddy met his beloved wife, Bea, at Trinity Lutheran Church school in 1952. She loved him from that moment on.
Buddy had a passion for his family and loved to go hunting. He also enjoyed kidding around with his caregivers, who loved to give it right back. "Mr. Buddy Sauer will truly be missed. We are going to miss our morning banters. There was never a dull moment when entering his room. He always asked us, 'What are you doing here?!' and then laughed." – Reunion Court caregivers
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 12 at 1 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Rd, Houston, TX 77058.
