George Richard Schober

George Schober, age 95, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Wheaton, Illinois.
Born on February 19, 1930, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, George was the son of George L. Schober and Grace Wauters. He pursued his education at DePaul University, laying the foundation for his life where he dedicated 35 years to his career at State Farm.
George shared a long and loving marriage with his wife, LaVerne. Together they raised three children: daughters Dawn (Bill Muckian) and Jennifer (Mark Diab), and their late son George Jeffery Schober (Linda). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren-Bridget, Tyler, Erin, Clare, George, Lillian, Alex, Max, Maddie, Anna, and Louie-each of whom brought joy to his later years. He is also remembered by his sister Sharon Burney.
Throughout his life, George enjoyed the simple things, Western TV shows, coffee from the bank, and most importantly, the Green Bay Packers. While living in Mount Prospect, he took pride in spending time with his family doing everything from tending to his garden to playing cards. A keen observer of financial trends, he found joy and success following and investing in the stock market.
George's long life was marked by devotion to family and an enduring spirit of engagement with the world around him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire those who carry forward his legacy.
A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2026 in the auditorium at Wyndemere Senior Living at 200 Wyndemere Circle in Wheaton, IL at 12pm-3pm.
