Mr. George Andrew Smith Jr.

Mr. George Andrew Smith, Jr., 74, of Peoria, IL, passed away peacefully at 6:24 am on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
George was born on March 15, 1951 in Grenada, MS to George and Fannie (Hammond) Smith. He married Jeanne Lee Weber and to that union 2 daughters, Shaninda and Angela were born.
George worked for Rold Gold Pretzel Company, St. Louis, MO as a laborer. He was a self-taught electrician and mechanic. George loved everything about science. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. George was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, East St. Louis, IL and was baptized in 1973.
George leaves to cherish his most precious memory his daughters, Shaninda (Charles Ngugi) Smith of St. Louis, MO and Angela (Olion) Norris of Peoria Heights, IL; six brothers, Bernard Smith, Fairview Heights, IL, Carlos "Gage" (Kathy) Smith of Norfolk, VA; Baldwin Smith of Portland, OR; Charles (Valerie) Smith of Spring, TX, Kelvin Smith of Dallas, TX and Dana (Demetra) Smith of South Haven, MS; two sisters, Levora Taylor of Collinsville, IL and LaRhonda Smith of Peoria, IL; thirteen grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who adored him. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife and one sister, Elnora Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Simons Mortuary with a visitation at 10 am. Elder Dana Smith of Nesbit Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Nesbit, MS, will officiate.
