Mike was born on March 7, 1954, in Peoria, a son of the late Patrick J. and Joan Fatini Shinkle Manning. He is survived by four sisters, Bridget Tackman of Washington, IL, Moira Manning of Belleville, IL, Kathleen (Michael) Passmore of Punta Gorda, FL and Molly Manning of Peoria, two brothers, Matthew Manning and Martin Manning, both of Peoria, one aunt, Maureen (Chuck) Corrington and uncle, John Fatini, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
Mike was a graduate of Richwoods High School. He worked as a conductor and brakeman for Chicago Northwestern Railroad and later worked shows and exhibits for Caterpillar Inc, retiring in 2019. In his free time, Mike enjoyed stock car races and deer hunting.
Cremation Rites have been accorded. Per Mike's wishes, no services will be held.
