John Smith Obituary

John was a man of his word, and who's voice could be heard a mile away. His life was filled with adventures and stories that could fill books, leaving us always wanting to hear more. John could always be found cheering his children on in the top corner of the stands at games, sitting on Riddle Way beach in Manasquan making memories, watching his grandchildren or on the weekend with his brother-in-law Timmy in Atlantic City. John never missed an opportunity to spend time with the family he created and proved his dedication as he lovingly cared for his wife, Juelann through a long cancer battle.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years Juelann, his mother and father Doris T. and William H. Gray, brothers James Smith, Herbie Gray, Lonnie Gray, and sister Jeanne Gray. Surviving are his sister Karen Petrucci, brothers Kevin Gray, Mark (Maria) Gray, John Gray, and Timothy Gray, six children, John (Heather) Smith of Freehold, James (Marisa) Smith of Boonton Township, Todd (Lauren Hanna) Smith of Little Egg Harbor, Kyle (Katelyn) Smith of Freehold, Kayla Smith of Freehold, Jaclyn (Vito) Cannavo of Asbury Park; 9 grandchildren: Alex, Carter, Drew, Kenzie, Brynn, Madelyn, Mara, Reilly, Graycen; loving nephew Ryan Gray, his in-laws the Fisher family, his beloved friends the O'Connors, nieces Gina Patterson and Jan Pilla, along with many other nieces, nephews and loved ones he held dear.
Services will not be held per his wishes, join us by having a drink and celebrating John reuniting with the love of his life.

I´ll always remember "Big John" as a brother as he did live with my family when his first child, "Little John" was born. I´m sure there would be a chapter of the Lykes family in that book he didn´t get a chance to write. Rest in Peace, John. My prayers and sympathy are in my heart for your family. You will be missed.
