George Stierle, 65, passed away peacefully at his home in North Carolina on July 1, 2025.

Born in Queens, New York, on November 4, 1959, George spent nearly all of his life in New York before moving to North Carolina in 2022 to be closer to his daughter and son-in-law.

A graduate of Pace University, he was employed for many years as a grocery manager for Grand Union and later Stop & Shop, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady presence. Outside of work, George was incredibly hardworking around his and his family members' homes-especially his mother's house and his daughter's house-always helping with landscaping, home projects, and car maintenance. If something needed fixing, he was there.

George had a quiet but witty sense of humor and a dependable, generous spirit. He loved watching sports, especially the New York Yankees and New York Giants; and in his younger years, he enjoyed boating and fishing, particularly with his father.

He is survived by his daughter, Steph Heimall; his son-in-law, Christian Heimall; his beloved granddaughter; and his wife, Lana Stanton. He is also survived by his brother John (wife Denise), his sister Eileen (husband John), his sister Margaret (husband John), his sister Mary, and his brother Michael (wife Patricia), along with an aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. George was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Eleanor, and his brother Robert.

George was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him and will be remembered for all the small, steady ways he showed up for the people he loved.
