TANNER – George Lee Tanner, Jr., age 93 of Loganville (formally of Lawrenceville), Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, with Rev. Tim Tanner officiating. A Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery 202 Hebron Road, Dacula,
Georgia. George graduated from Dacula High School and was a former member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula. He was a barber at Tanner's Barber Shop in Dacula for 35 years before going into insurance and carpet sales. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Lee Tanner Sr. and Lou Emma (Bailey) Tanner. He is survived by his wife of 74 years Helen P. (Johnson)Tanner; children, Anita (Gary) Watkins; David Tanner; Tim (Kay) Tanner; sister, Jean Sexton; grandchildren Matt & Heather Watkins; Melissa & Jarrod Yancey; Mary & Adam Preston; Martin & Kristin Watkins; Trey & Annah Tanner; Kara & Andrew Beckett; Kristen Tanner; Michael Tanner; and Alison Tanner; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
