George I Trutt Jr, 78 of Ithaca, NY passed away at Cayuga Medical Center on Thursday August 28.
Born December 29, 1946 in Milton PA he was the son of the late George and Cora Mae Trutt (Fetzor) of Milton. He was married to the late Sandra Trutt for over 55 years.
George worked at Cornell University, at Wilson Lab for over 40 years as the senior experimental technician. He was the treasurer for the Tompkins County Soil and Water Board and served as Facilities Coordinator for the Enfield Valley Grange. He was a volunteer for Tompkins County 4-H for over 35 years.
Surviving is his three children: Thomas Trutt and spouse Wesley Richardson of Willseyville; VendaMae Harris and spouse Kenneth Harris Jr of Ithaca; and Leilani Slattery and spouse Mark Slattery of Ithaca; and three grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was proceeded in death by his two half-brothers Clyde Hendricks and Larry Hendricks.
A celebration of life is planned for 10:30am, Saturday October 11, 2025, at the Enfield Valley Grange.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to two organizations that George gave countless hours to as a volunteer: Tompkins County 4-H, C/O Venda Harris, 615 Willow Ave, Ithaca, NY 14860; or Enfield Valley Grange #295, Community Service Projects, 168 Enfield Main Rd, Suite 12, Ithaca, NY 14850.
