George Stanley Werkheiser, 70, of Bethlehem, passed away on December 13, 2025, at his residence. He was born on March 23, 1955, in Allentown, PA, to the late William and Marian (Fritz) Werkheiser.
George graduated from Freedom High School in 1973 and attended Penn State University. He was dedicated to his work at Victaulic where he started in the foundry and steadily rose through the ranks, putting his unmatched negotiation skills to work. George retired after 43 years of service as Director of Industrial Relations.
Outside of work, George embraced life fully. He loved golf, music, travel, spending time with friends and family, and he especially loved entertaining. Hosting pool parties and tailgates as a longtime Penn State football season ticket holder. Cooking was also one of George's great joys, and he was famous for making far more food than necessary.
George was a member of the South Side Survivors Rugby team, the Jefferson Democratic Club, and the BVFHA. He was known for his stubborn streak; but it was matched by his kindness, generosity, and his ability to smile with a twinkle in his eyes.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Kelly J. Werkheiser. Their story began at Your Mother's Bloomers on the South Side of Bethlehem leading to a lifelong partnership built on loyalty, laughter, and deep affection.
George will also be dearly missed by his children, Drew Werkheiser and his wife, Monica, Ryan Werkheiser and his wife, Meggan, and Molly Aguirre and her husband, David; as well as his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Mackenzie, Liam, Finn, David, and Bronx; and his brothers, William and John Werkheiser.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, December 20, 12-2 p.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 with a memorial service to immediately follow in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in George's honor to the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem, 1430 Fritz Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
