George Guth West II, 62, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025 at EveryStep Kavanagh House. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m., both at Iles Dunn's Chapel. He will be interred at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Born on October 10, 1962, in Des Moines to George and Dawn (Clark) West, George grew up with a strong work ethic. He spent many years as a dedicated Warehouse Manager at Bratney Companies, where his coworkers were like family.
A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, George was also a talented musician, playing bass guitar in several bands throughout his life. He had a passion for old Westerns and especially loved The Lone Ranger. His interest in the Old West extended beyond the screen-he enjoyed participating in cowboy shooting competitions and embraced the spirit of the cowboy lifestyle.
George had a special place in his heart for dogs, cherishing the companionship of many over the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Terri West.
He is survived by his stepdaughter Mackenzie (Casey) Kluesner, stepson Tyler Crimmins, and brother Clark (Vicky) West.
