Georgeta Neiner of age 85, when she passed away in her home in Albuquerque, NM on January 26, 2025.
Georgeta was born in Afumati, Romania in 1939. Georgeta grew up on her family farm and witnessed World War II and the Russian occupation in 1947. She left to work in Bucharest in her twenties where she met her husband, Emil Neiner. They were married in 1972. She had her daughter, Doinita Neiner, whom she deeply loved. In 2020, she moved to the US to be near her daughter and granddaughter. After a long battle with dementia, she passed away on January 26th in her sleep. She witnessed the Allied bombings of Ploiesti and she saw the rise and fall of communism. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Doinita Neiner and Patrick Nichols, and granddaughter: Brandusa Nichols-Neiner.
Georgeta has one living sister, Niculina and very loved sister-in-law, Lica. She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil Neiner, her mother and father Tudora and Gheorghe Iordan, her sister Aurica, her brothers Nicu and Gica.
Despite her very rough beginnings, Georgeta was a very kind soul, and she was always willing to lend a hand to help someone, but perhaps the most prevalent feature of her character was her will.
Services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Ucrainian Orthodox Church in Los Alamos, St. Job, with burial to follow from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael in Canones, NM.
