Bristol, TN – Georgie Fay Bowers Roark Lester, age 86, passed on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Dominion Senior Living. Fay was a home health care provider for nearly 30 years and was a member of Maple Grove Presbyterian Church. She was multi-talented having at some point been a farmer, bus driver, health care provider, and even truck driver.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, John William and Georgia Pearl Blevins Bowers; first husband, James “Jim” Roark; sons, James Parker Roark and William Gregory Roark; daughter, Rebecca Fay Roark; and 14 siblings.
Fay is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Lester; son, James Patrick “Hank” Roark and wife Regina; daughters, Peggy Jo Roark Harless and husband Junior, and Edna Gaynell Sargent; stepson, Kevin Lester; siblings, Carolyn Tomlinson, Ann Roark, Betty “Beck” Watson; grandchildren, Tracy Roark, Tina Roark, Michael Harless, Tyrell Ferguson, Danielle Sargent, Brian Roark, Dustin Roark, Tucker Roark, Dennis Roark, Candace Curtis, and Brooke Roark Worley; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Stephen Talbert officiating.
