Gerald "Jerry" Antku
Bridgeport, MI
Jerry passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at home with his wife and son by his side, age 59. Jerry was born July 30, 1965 to Eugene and the late Mary Ann (Novak) Antku. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, Class of 1983. Jerry married the former Wendy Scothorn August 27, 1988 at Bridgeport Community Church. Jerry was a former employee of St. Mary's Hospital. Many weekends, Jerry could be found watching oval tack racing at Auto City Speedway or Dixie Motor Speedway. He was ecstatic when his son decided he wanted to build and drive his own dirt track car and became a very proud (and mostly nervous) race dad.
Jerry is survived by his wife Wendy, son and best friend James; father Eugene Antku; sister Jamie (Jeff Placher) Antku; special aunt and uncle Robert and Carol Dunham; brother-in-law Tommy Scothorn and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
Jerry was preceded by his brothers Steve Antku and David Antku whom he missed dearly and will now be hunting and fishing with for eternity, mother Mary Ann Antku; in-laws Lloyd and Betty Scothorn along with brother-in-law James "Jimmy" Scothorn.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice for the guidance and assistance with Jerry in his final days in addition to the Bridgeport Class of 1983 and all those who granted Jerry's request for Christmas cards. Each and every one was read and appreciated, making his final Christmas a memorable one. Jerry generously donated his body for research to Science Hope. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
