Gerald Hubald Cyr 85, of East Granby, beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Boucher) Cyr,he passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on December 24, 2024.
He was born on December 23, 1939, in New Canada, ME, was raised in Portage Lake ME. Gerald joined the US Army in 1957 with the 82nd Airborne division. He married his love, Geraldine Boucher on July 15, 1961, to Portage Lake, ME then moved to Connecticut to start their lives together.
Gerald leaves behind three children. David and his wife Daphne Cyr, of North Granby, CT, Linda and her husband Renauld Masson of East Granby, CT and Sandra Cyr of Amherst, VA.
He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Scott Masson, Alexander Cyr, Zachary Cyr, Jeffrey Dreher, Katie Dreher and Steven Masson. He also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Gemma Masson and Libby Cash.
He is survived by his two siblings, Harold Cyr (twin brother) and Raymond Cyr. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rita Evans, Hilda LaFleur, Rinette Daleb, and five brothers, Elmer, Gilbert, Gilman, Donald, and James Cyr.
His family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 AM.
The Family would like to send a special thanks to Gerald's Patient Care Assistant, Jen Sterling. She was a blessing to our family.
