Gerald Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory - Buford Chapel on Jun. 3, 2024.
Gerald (Jerry) Lee Davis, Jr, 48, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away on May 27, 2024.
Jerry was born on June 27, 1975, to Gerald Lee Davis, sr and Mary Eleanor Dunaphant Davis in Raleigh, NC. Jerry was predeceased by his wife Cindy and his father Gerald Davis, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor Davis, Grandmother, Haviland Dunaphant, brother, Shawn Davis, his two stepsisters, Rhonda Hagood and Michelle Watts. His stepdaughter, Amber Gorlesky. Nieces, Kayla Shattles, Gaia Watts, Kylie Davis. Nephews, Jacob Shattles, Julian Watts & Tobiah Watts.
After Jerry graduated from South Gwinnett High School, he attended classes at Dekalb College. He went on to work with his Father's business, GDI, a cable tv construction company. Years later, he worked at Truck Central in Conley, GA. and in Savannah, GA. as a sales representative. He was top salesman three years in a row.
Jerry married Cindy Fleeman in 2004. They had no children together. Cindy's daughter, Amber, grew close to Jerry and called him Dad. They loved each other dearly, had the same since of humor and enjoyed going to karaoke bars where Cindy would sing.
Jerry was known by his family and close friends to have an amazing since of humor and he never failed to make us all laugh. We all told him that he should do stand up comedy. He loved his family dearly and would do anything to help a friend. In 2019, his wife, Cindy, was paralyzed after spinal surgery. She spent a year at Sheppard's Spinal Center before passing away in June of 2020. Jerry spent most days being with her and learning how to care for her. He was still able to make her laugh.
Jerry always loved riding dirt bikes, go carts and motorcycles. He finally got the motorcycle of his dreams when he bought a Harley Davidson. He said it always made him feel free when riding it. One of his more passionate interests was shoes. He collected lots of designer sports shoes; Jordan's, Nike's, Puma's, to name a few. He never paid full price but would shop at Good Will and thrift stores.
A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Tannery Row Ale House, 554 W Main Street Buford, Ga. from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.
