Gerald Hostetler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DeArman Funeral Home - Wynnewood on May 18, 2024.
Gerald "Gary" Douglas Hostetler was born on January 22, 1950 to Marjorie (Curtis) and Merrill Hostetler in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He passed from this life on May 16, 2024 in his home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma at the age of 74.
Gary raised his two children in Indiana where he worked as a lineman at Weatherhead Brake Division for over 30 years. He helped coach baseball games, assisted with 4-H projects, and enjoyed hunting. In 2012, Gary moved from Indiana to Oklahoma where he made many friends who he loved like family. He built his house on a beautiful 20-acre property and stayed busy caring for his horses and cattle. Gary also enjoyed painting, reading, bible study, a good conspiracy theory, and keeping up with his three grandkids. His dog, Brownie, was his beloved companion for more than fifteen years.
Gary is survived by a daughter, DeDe and husband Darin Dankelson as well as 3 grandchildren; Haley Hostetler, Peter Dankelson and Jacob Dankelson, as well as a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Justin Hostetler and a brother, Terry Hostetler.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21 from 5-7PM at the DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood, and a service will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 22 at 10AM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please send donations to the Justin Hostetler Memorial located at 2397 South 500 East St., Pierceton, Indiana 46562
