Gerald was born November 3, 1940 in Carrollton, Missouri the son of John and Anna Lou Mead. He attended school in Carrollton and was a professional driver. He was employed by Green Quarries of Carrollton and Columbia Redi Mix where he drove the cement mixer.
He loved working on motors and other mechanical & electrical devices.
Gerald was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan.
He was a member of the Carrollton Assembly of God Church.
Gerald is survived by two sons: Steve and Molly Mead, Prairie Village, Kansas and Barclay and Kari Mead, Ozawkie, Kansas; one grandchild, Bailey Meir of Houston, Texas; and three great grandchildren, Lorraine Green, Tristan Johnson and Jackson Kalka.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jesse Mead and Don Mead.
Visitation will be Friday, December 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m., at Bittiker Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri. Graveside will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
