Gerald Schlechter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home on Feb. 26, 2026.
Gerald (Jerry) Schlechter, 41, of Langhorne, PA, passed away on February 16, 2026, leaving behind a family who adored him and countless friends who will miss his bright and loving spirit. He was truly beloved by many, and his loss is felt deeply by all who knew him.

Jerry cherished his family above all. His greatest joy was being a father to his son, Gerald, who was the light of his life. He embraced every moment they spent together and took immense pride in watching him grow. Jerry also deeply valued the time he shared with his own father, a reflection of the strong and loving bonds he carried in his heart.

Jerry's smile was infectious; his warmth, humor, and easygoing nature drew people to him wherever he went, and he left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to cross his path. He loved to travel, especially to places that brought him sunshine and a sense of ease-annual summers in Ocean City were a particular favorite, and he especially enjoyed time spent in Hawaii and Key West, two destinations he truly loved. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed golfing, skiing, and running 5Ks with his son, Gerald. He was passionate about politics and followed current events closely. Time spent with family and friends was always important to him and among his happiest memories.

He is survived by his beloved son, Gerald Schlechter; his former wife, Lauren Francey; his loving mother, Valerie Schlechter; and his father, Gerald Schlechter. He also leaves behind his brother, Andrew Schlechter (Alyese), and his adored nieces and nephew: Aurora, Athena, Anastasia, and Andrew Schlechter.

Jerry is further survived by his uncle, Gary Schlechter (Lisa); his aunt, Donna Womer; his uncle, John Watson; his aunt, Beverly Watson (Jef); and his late uncle, Ed Watson (Wendi). He will be deeply missed by his many cousins: Tina Womer, Jennie Womer, Kellie Watson, Jacqui Watson, Michael Watson (Laura), Timothy Watson, Ryan Watson, Emma Watson, Bryan Watson (Sarah), and Ty Laubach.

Though his time with us was far too short, Jerry filled our lives with laughter, unwavering devotion, and a warmth that made every gathering brighter. The joy he brought to family and friends will live on in the stories we share and the memories we hold close. He was deeply loved beyond words, and his presence will be missed every day, but his spirit will remain in our hearts always.

Family and friends are invited to Jerry's Life Celebration on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 6:00-8:00pm at Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 South Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA 19047. His Funeral Mass will be held the next day on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00am at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.

Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly invites you to honor Jerry's memory with a donation to Foundation of Hope (walkforhope.com/), a cause that was close to his heart and reflective of his generous spirit.
