Gerald "Jerry" Scholtes II, 55, entered into rest Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born in Joliet, IL to the late Maureen and Gerald F. Scholtes and has been a longtime resident of Burke County. He was a graduate of Hephzibah High School. Jerry was a member of New Beginnings in Christ in Garfield and a member of the Industrial Electrical Contractors. He was employed by Rowell Electric for 29 years. He enjoyed wood worker, BBQ competitions with his team, Smokin With The J's, coaching travel softball, and coaching both baseball and softball at the Burke County Recreation Department. Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kandy Cox; a son, Gerald F. Scholtes III (Colleen Fuller) of Dearing, GA; a daughter, Kassidy M. Scholtes (Luis Benitez) of Waynesboro; a stepson, James Crews III of Waynesboro; a stepdaughter, Ashley Paige Goetzman (Harvey) of Waynesboro; a step daughter, Meagan Friese of Waynesboro; eleven grandchildren, Makenley Friese, Audrie Clavette, Billy Friese, JD Boone, Owen Crews, Ellie Boone, Graysen Fuller, Bella Fuller, Jake Crews, Harlie Goetzman, and Gunner Crews; four sisters, Tammy Atkinson (Jason) of TN, Cindy Cogley (Steve) of Summerville, SC, Barbie Squire (Kenny) of Sylvania; and Patty Ouzts of Cottageville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held 5:00pm Saturday, November 30 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeffrey Boone officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Remembrances may be made to New Beginnings in Christ or Shriners Children's Hospital.
