Jerry was a graduate of Iroquois High School. He was employed at General Electric for 40 years prior to his retirement. Jerry was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Gem City Gun Club. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and spending time on his boat. He also liked cooking, playing cards and enjoying the outdoors with his friends.
In addition to his mother, Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara VanDessel; one daughter, Pamela Palmer (Gregory); one brother, Larry VanDessel (Sandy); two sisters, Lynne Noelte (Steven) and Laura Lang (Albert); three grandchildren, Evan, Alexis and Liam Palmer, whom he loved dearly; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Saturday, January 21st, from 2 pm until the time of the Memorial Service there at 4 pm conducted by Rev. Debra Rogosky. A private interment will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Foster Erie at www.fostererie.org.

My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Gerry was a kind-hearted guy and in every memory I have of him, he is smiling. We went to church and high school together and although he never said a lot back then about his faith, I saw him living it. May your memories as you gather together to celebrate his life bring you comfort as well.
