Gerald E. "Jerry" Wolf Sr.

Gerald "Jerry" E. Wolf Sr., "Pappa Jerry", of Boiling Spring Lakes passed away peacefully at his home with his family on November 27 after a short illness.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father Elton Randolph and mother Priscilla Renter Wolf, sisters Audrey Straub and Lillian Naylor. brother in-law Jack Naylor and step son, Joel Faulk. Jerry's life was forever changed when he lost his son Gerald "Jerry" E. Wolf Jr. and daughter Julie Wolf Curry in 2013.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years Ruby Johnson Wolf, brother Richard "Dick" Wolf, son Eric Ek (Lee Ann), daughter Jody Wolf Taube (Kurt), Robert Edward Horn whom he loved as a son, Susan Hartman (Ben) and Vanessa Cribb (Jimmy).
Granddaughters Jessica Wolf, Kaitlyn Wolf David (Phillip), Jaime Curry Jackson (Shane), Julie Sowa (Piotr), Valerie Ferraro (Sean), Marinda Newman (Joe), Michelle Kaplan (Ben), Courtney Shannon (Jason), April Cribb, and Brandy Sellers (Mike). Grandsons Jeremy Curry (Kara), Bryan Ek (Korissa), Daniel Jackson (Kaitlyn), Jack Faulk and Christopher Faulk.
Great grandchildren Ainsley, Maverick, Grayson, Eliza, Evelina, Zofia, Mia, Bryson, Alexander, Ashlyn, Madison, Kynlee, Carson, Asa and Ellie.
Jerry graduated from Millcreek/McDowell High School in 1960 where he played football. Jerry joined the Navy in 1960 and served June 1960 – September 1963 on the USS Willis A. Lee during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He began working at Eriez Magnetics in 1964 as a forklift operator and worked his way up to Manager, Industrial Metal Detector Division and retired in 1985 after 20 years of service.
Jerry moved to NC in 1985 for weather improvement and began his 10 year employment with Orkin Exterminating Company. He served as Branch Manager in Elizabeth City, Wilmington, Lumberton, Rocky Mount, Wilson and Raleigh, NC and then Regional Service Coordinator for all of Eastern NC. He worked for Commercial Services, Inc. as Training/HR Director from 1995 – 2007 when at age 65 he thought he was ready to retire. Jerry worked part-time for the City of Boiling Spring Lakes, in various positions including the Water Dept. where he worked with Robert Horn who he "adopted" and considers his son. Jerry worked at the local Lowes Home Improvement in Southport, NC because he loved working and helping people.
Jerry loved to sail on the bay in Erie and Presque Isle, PA and later in various places in NC. He was happiest when he was on the water. Jerry was a Master Gardner and loved making the community beautiful.
A Celebration of Life will be held at New Creations Worship Center, 3127 George II Hwy, Boiling Spring Lakes, NC on Saturday, December 9 at 1:00 PM.
