Geraldine Marie Coogan

Geraldine (Geri) Marie Coogan passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025. Geri was the second oldest of five daughters, born on June 17, 1935, to Martha Sophie (Slumpff) and Walter Edward Freeman. Geri was married to Ronald Noble Coogan in 1959 and celebrated 59 years of marriage before Ron's death on April 28, 2018. Geri herself was blessed with five daughters, Colleen (Andy), Debbie (Bill), Karen (late Alex), Ronda (Barry) and Kellie (Alan), eight grandchildren Travis (Heather), Ryan (Ashley), Dagne (Cameron), Madison, Hayley, Billy, Erin, and Joe. nine great-grandchildren Isaiah, Abigail, Payton, John, Owen, Brady, Bridger, Carson, and Ainsley, sisters Rosemary and Chris and brother-in-law Mike (Marge). She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Coogan, son-in-law Alex Mierzejewski, her beloved sisters, Marilyn and Judy, brothers and sister-in-law Don C., Bill, Don T, Andy, Hugh, JoAnn, her stepfather Harold Normandin and her parents Martha and Walter Freeman. Geri will be remembered by her family for her deep faith, her gentle and unyielding love, and her beautiful sense of humor and quick wit. Donations can be made in her name to Snow Approach Foundation. Visitation Friday from 1pm until 8pm at the RG & GR Harris Funeral Home, 15451 Farmington Road, Livonia, MI. Funeral Mass Saturday at 10:30 am (Instate at 9:30 am) at St. Edith Catholic Church, 15089 Newburgh Road, Livonia, MI.
