Geraldine (Gerry) I. Leach, 99, passed away into the hands of her personal savior, Jesus Christ at Brookline Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Gerry was born on January 29, 1926, in Cocolamus and was the youngest child of Ira and Mary (Stuck) Shelley.
She married her loving husband, Frank Leach, on January 8, 1946 and was blessed to share 65 years of marriage before his passing on February 28, 2011.
Surviving Gerry is her son, Gary Leach and his wife Barbara of Mifflin; grandson, Michael Leach and wife Erica of Mifflintown; great grandson, Caleb Leach of McAlisterville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank Leach and surviving spouse, Molly of Harrisburg on January 18, 2025; and nine sisters and one brother.
Gerry attended Cedar Grove Church until her health failed, but she continued in her faith in God and all that knew her considered her to be a strong "Prayer Warrior."
Gerry was a very giving and selfless person who will be missed deeply by all the people she knew.
Everyone that came into contact with Gerry can attest that she was a wonderful cook and loved to bake great tasting "Sweets!"
The family would like to thank all the staff of Brookline for all their help and caring of Gerry during her stay there and in making her feel part of their family.
Per her personal requests, there will be no viewing or funeral services.
A private celebration of her life will be held by her immediate family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Leach's memory can be made to the Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
