Geraldine "Gerri" Brazier Thacker, 89, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at her home. Born March 27, 1936, in Old Hickory, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Henry Woody Jones and Velsa Ann Allen Jones. Gerri was a beloved figure in her community, known for her unwavering kindness, service, and bright smile that could uplift those around her.
Gerri dedicated a significant part of her professional life to AT&T, where she served diligently as an operator and later excelled as a service representative. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were reflected in her interactions with colleagues and customers alike, earning her both respect and admiration.
A proud graduate of Gallatin High School, she was a member of the class of 1954. Gerri was deeply rooted in her Christian faith, proudly belonging to the First Baptist Church of Gallatin, where she actively participated in outreach activities, including sending cards to homebound members and assisting with Tennessee Disaster Relief.
Gerri’s personality was warm and welcoming; she never had a negative word to say about anyone. Her ability to see the good in others endeared her to many. Her dedication to helping others extended to her personal life as well, where she took great joy in tending to her beautiful flower garden at home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James "Corky" Brazier and daughter Katrina Gail Kemp.
Gerri cherished her family and is survived by her devoted husband, Charles “Chuck” Thacker, her loving daughter, Teresa (Billy) Flynn, and her treasured sister, Amelia Gail Flatt. She was a proud grandmother to Haley (Jacob) Abbott, Brittney (Jesse) Eddy, and Kristin (Jonathan) Roecker. Gerri's legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, including Hayden James Abbott, Ethan Eddy, Ensley Eddy, and Hannah Gail Roecker. In addition, she is survived by her stepchildren: Connie (Casey) Vincent, Teresa (Chris) Rumble, Dale Thacker, Roger (Gina) Foley and Adam (Heather) Foley.
As the community mourns the passing of Gerri, her memory will be celebrated through her acts of kindness and the love she shared with all who knew her.
Gerri's family will welcome friends and loved ones during visitation on Thursday, July 31, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Gallatin. A second visitation will take place at the First Baptist Church of Gallatin on Friday, August 1, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service officiated by Perry McArthur at 12:00 PM. Gerri will be laid to rest at Crestview Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jacob Abbott, Jesse Eddy, Chris Rumble, Casey Vincent, Steve Flatt, and Kevin Mathews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Perry McArthur Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church Gallatin.

Her life exemplified dedication, faith, and service, and her spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
