Gertrude "Gertie" Brown, 86, Junction City, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Rev. Dr. Timothy Roser will officiate. Burial will follow at Runkel Cemetery, Junction City.
Gertie was born on November 13, 1938 in the Town of Dewey to Barney and Lucille (Helmeniak) Kuzynski. She was united in marriage to Frederick Brown on April 29, 1961 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Junction City.
Gertie worked on a farm her whole life. She enjoyed gardening and always cooked a large meal for everyone. She loved to crochet pillows and afghans and make quilts for everyone. In her spare time she babysat the grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick, children, Judy (Brian) Brzezinski, Sandy (Kevin) Schnese, Jeff Brown, Dawn (Marv) Kawlewski, Frederick M. Brown, and Scott (Abbee) Brown, 17 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
She is further survived by her brothers, Marvin Kuzynski and Melvin (Nancy) Kuzynski, and sister, Christine Aldrich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Norbert, and sister, Evelyn.
Thank you to Interim Hospice for their compassionate care and to Gertie's granddaughter, Emily for her time, love, and dedication in caring for her grandma.
