Gideon Varga Obituary
He attended Ridgewood High School before earning a B.S. in organic chemistry at Manhattan College followed by a PHD in inorganic chemistry from Georgetown University.
Gideon worked for more than 20 years at the Exxon Corporation and for another 20 years with the Department of Energy, focusing on environmental issues. Upon retirement he relocated to Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Gideon was a true gentleman. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a quiet, thoughtful and caring person who was steadfast in his beliefs. Gideon valued family above all and especially cherished time with loved ones during the holidays. He will be greatly missed.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey on January 6 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice per Gideon's wishes.
