Gina Marie Raffone

Gina Marie Raffone (Chasse) of North Branford, beloved wife of Vinal Chasse Jr., passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 62 years old.

Born on October 15, 1963, Gina was the cherished daughter of Eugene Raffone and Phyllis (Perno) Raffone.

Gina was a talented athlete and a proud graduate of Mitchell College, where she excelled in field hockey and won a gold medal with her team. Her competitive spirit and determination were matched by her warmth and generosity.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is cherished in the memories of her loving siblings, Phyllis Raffone Piccirillo (Robert) of Massachusetts and Eugene Raffone IV (Lori) of Illinois, and her mother-in-law, Mary Chasse of Colchester. Gina also leaves behind her cherished godsons, Nicholas Piccirillo and Andrew Sparano, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Vincent, Victor, and Christopher Chasse.

Gina had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, and found great joy in their companionship. She was known for her kind heart and the genuine care she showed to those around her.

For many years, Gina worked as a dispatcher for Yankee Gas and also as a Work Week Planner. She was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching Notre Dame, the New York Giants, and the New York Yankees.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Smilow Cancer Center of Guilford and the Northeast Family Practice of Guilford for the compassionate care and support provided to Gina throughout her illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM, directly at Holy Infant Church in Orange, Connecticut. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Maresca & Sons Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
