Giovanni Domenic "John" Lunato

Giovanni "John" Domenic Lunato, 81, of Leroy Township, Ohio passed away at his home from natural causes on Friday, October 3, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
John was born October 17, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Ralph Ross Lunato and Genevieve (Doyle) Lunato and graduated from Mentor High School and Lakeland Community College. From 1966-1968 he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam before being honorably discharged. On August 16, 1971, he married Linda Maureen Sartain in Cleveland, Ohio and together they shared more than 54 years of love and memories.
John loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and deeply loved and was proud of the U.S.A.
He is survived by his wife Linda Maureen Lunato; children, Ross Lunato and Kenneth (Jeni) Lunato; grandchildren, Alexander Lunato, Cassandra Lunato, Aaron Lunato, Jenna Lunato, Cody Lunato and Jesse Lunato; great-grandchildren, Asher Lunato, Dylan O'Brien and Aubrie Reynolds; siblings, Patricia Langhoff, Betty Collins and Cliff Tengler.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Ross Lunato and Genevieve (Doyle) Lunato and numerous siblings.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 5pm-8pm at Lake Erie Cremation and Funeral Services, 1500 Harpersfield Road, Geneva, Ohio 44041 (440) 361-2273. A private burial will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Williams Cemetery in Leroy Township.
The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to staff at UH Lake West Medical Center for all of the care and support given to John and the family during his time there.
