It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Gisela (Kratz) Buzalsky, 89 of Hanover, on November 9, 2024. Gisela was born in Frankfurt, Germany on July 12, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Karl Kratz and the late Anni (Kohl) Liebenthal, and sister of the late Günther Kratz, and the late Brigitte (Kratz) Kuehne.
Gisela excelled in her schooling and enjoyed learning new skills. Her high intelligence and determination were displayed in her occupation as a legal secretary in Frankfurt.
While in Germany, Gisela met her future husband, the late Gordon W. Buzalsky. Gordon was a lieutenant in the U.S. Army and had been stationed in Germany. They wed in Germany in 1957 and subsequently moved to Minnesota where they started their family and raised four children. After living in Minnesota, Gisela and her family moved to Hanover in 1968.
Gisela worked in Boston, and on the South Shore for multiple newspapers and agencies. Despite English being her second language, she was very successful in her professional career.
Gisela's greatest joy was her family. Her love and compassion were obvious to all who knew her.
Gisela was married to her loving husband for 63 years. She is survived by her children Brigitte, Renate, Maria and Karl Buzalsky, and her grandchildren Melissa Bonanno and Matthew Buzalsky. She is also survived by her son in law Eric Perlman, and daughter in law Cheryl Buzalsky.
A private graveside service will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. At https://communityfundraising.woundedwarriorproject.org/campaign/In-memory-of-Gisela-Buzalsky
