Gladys Louise Johns Locke, age 80, of Lake Butler, passed away Monday, September 2, 2024, at her home. Gladys was born on January 13, 1944, to the late Ray and Frances Johns.
She graduated from Union County High School, class of 1962. After graduation, Gladys moved to Winter Haven, FL and went to work for State Farm Insurance. Gladys married Lemuel Locke and they moved to Illinois where they raised their two children; Teri Lynn Locke and Jeff Locke. They were blessed with 3 grandchildren; Alexis Skipp, Dylan and Sarah Locke.
Preceding her in death, her husband Lemuel Locke and sister, Frances Carol Johns Sutherland.
She is survived by her daughter, son, and 3 grandchildren, along with her sister, Patricia Robinson.
Gladys worked all her adult life retiring from Shadd Country Crock in management after 25 years. Her most joy in life was loving and taking care of her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held, October 12, 2024, at the Women’s Club in Lake Butler at 1:00pm. Pastor Terry Elixson will officiate the service.
