Marilyn Denise Bivins, born on March 29, 1958, in Lake City, Florida, passed away on August 14, 2025, at HCA North Florida in Gainesville. She was a beloved member of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Marilyn was born and raised in Union County, where she graduated from Union County High School. In her early career, she moved to Ohio, becoming a dedicated machinist with the Hobart Factory. Marilyn later returned home to Union County in the early 2000s, to be with her family whom she loved so much.
Throughout her life, she had a passion for reading and enjoyed playing games on her tablet and cards. Marilyn loved going on vacation, cherishing the experiences and memories made during her travels.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Ann Tanner of Ft. White; her nieces, Lori (Jimmy) Rowland of Lake City, Lisa Wilson, Patricia Woodard, and Amber (Brian) Knagge all of Providence; her nephew, Michael (Kelli) Hilton of Ocala; and great-nieces and great-nephews, including LaShea (Johnny) Brown of Lake City, Ashley Mann of North Carolina, Karri Woodard, Gregory Mann, John Woodard, John Knagge all of Providence, Douglas (Jana) Knagge of Lake City, and Holden and Thorne Hilton of Ocala. She also leaves behind one great-great-great-niece and a multitude of great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, F.M. and Gladys Bivins, and her sisters, Linda Kent and Laura Hilton.
A visitation will be held on September 5, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by a graveside service at 11:00am, both taking place at the Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery.
