Mrs. Glenda Ashmore, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Lindale, Georgia, Glenda was the daughter of the late Carlton and Mildred Sealock. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Ashmore; her beloved daughter, Dianna Ashmore; and her siblings, Edward Sealock and Joyce Barker.
With a strong work ethic and a heart full of compassion, Glenda spent much of her early career at Pepperell Mills, where she worked for many years as a skilled spinner. Later in life, she found deep purpose in healthcare, serving with grace and empathy in local nursing facilities. Her nurturing spirit brought comfort to many in their most vulnerable moments. Glenda was a proud and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she formed lifelong friendships and served her community with pride and faith. She had a special fondness for collecting teddy bears, each one a symbol of her gentle and loving nature. In quieter moments, she found joy in needlepoint, creating beautiful and intricate pieces that are now cherished keepsakes. A devoted baseball fan, Glenda rarely missed a game and could often be found cheering on her favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. Her love for the sport was surpassed only by her love for her family. She was a deeply dedicated mother and grandmother whose pride in her children and grandchildren was evident in every conversation.
Glenda Ashmore leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Those left behind to cherish Glenda's memory are her devoted children, Lamar Ashmore, Steve Ashmore (Jodi), James Ashmore (Suzie), Laura Jardin, Nancy Hester (Don), and Christy Woods; her sister, Becky Ford: her brother, Ralph Sealock; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15 at 10:00am, in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel. Serving as pallbearers will be Casey Jardin, Jordan Bailey, Stewart Bailey, Dillon Ashmore, John Davis, and David Tyler. Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Adam Ashmore.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, is proud to serve the family of Mrs. Glenda Ashmore.
