It's with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glenda Lee Pae, a loving wife, mother, grandmother/great-grandmother, and friend to many. Glenda was born July 21, 1935, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and lived a full and rewarding life until her passing on December 25, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Norman M. Ward and Keitha E. (McCord) Shearer.
Glenda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was known for her warm and welcoming personality and her home was filled with love and laughter. Glenda loved spending time at the beach with her family and friends. She had a deep love for animals, and could often be found spending time with her beloved dog Abby.
Glenda was truly passionate about the benefits of competitive swimming. During her coaching career at the West Shore YMCA, her teams won more than 24 State YMCA titles and runner-up titles. She was inducted into the Penn State Swimming Hall of Fame, and the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of fame, and she is the recipient of the International Swimming Hall of Fame, Joseph G. Rogers Award. Glenda retired from the YMCA after 39 years of service.
Glenda is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert James "Boog" Pae Sr., and her beloved children; Jack McClain (Bonnie), Desiree (Pae) Fox, and Robert Pae Jr. (Stephanie). In addition to her children, Glenda is survived by grandchildren Christopher Fox (Jenna), Ashley Harned (Thomas), Aimee Fox, Travis McClain (Jennifer), Dustin Pae, and Chad Pae, as well as great-grandchildren, Vivian Harned, Reeden Harned, Miranda McClain, and Memphis McClain, her sister Kim Rodkey and an additional wealth of family and friends who loved her profoundly.
Glenda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Glenda's memory to the YMCA Swim program or the Humane Society.

I will be forever thankful for Mrs. Pae´s generosity towards the Burns girls who lived next door on Market Street. I smile to remember her loading us into her Cadillac for a trip to the Harrisburg YMCA, a community swim.

Deepest sympathy to all of Glenda´s family. Such fond memories of her as a coach at the Dauphin Pool the summer and the YWCA in winter. It is amazing what she accomplished with a bunch of kids who had never swum competitively at a new community pool! We will forever remember our Coach Pae!

So many great memories from the pool include all the years we were mentored by "Coach Pae" to swim our best. People who dedicate their lives to the betterment of kids deserve a special spot in heaven. I´m sure your momma is there with the best of them Condolences and much love from all the Rudy family.
