Glenn A. "Chub" Bland

Glenn Allen "Chub" Bland, 85, of Yellow Spring, WV, died on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Chub was born on August 1, 1940, in Capon Springs, WV, the son of the late Clinton M. and Lelia Brill Bland. Chub was a 1958 graduate of Capon Bridge High School, a veteran in the United States Army and attended Shiloh United Methodist Church in High View, WV. He was a truck driver for over 15 years with McFarland's Mill in Winchester, VA, worked as a mechanic at a few businesses, but his passion was to work on cars and racecars and would spend time at local dirt tracks.
Chub married Carolyn LaFollette Bland on December 24, 1961, in Intermont, WV.
Surviving with his wife of 63 years are two daughters: Cherlyn Bland; Angelica Bland and her husband Shawn Metty of both Winchester, VA; four grandchildren: Cara & Jared Bland, Allison & Kristen Palmer; and three great-grandchildren: Chevelle Morgan, Paisley Love & Bailie Fay.
He is preceded in death by two sisters: Elma V. Orndorff & Nina L. Bland; and a brother: James W. "Mike" Bland.
The family will receive friends at Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4-6 PM.
A graveside inurnment will be held at Hebron Cemetery in Yellow Spring, WV on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Susie Largent. Military rites will be accorded by the United States Army.
