Glenn Earl Denton, a loving husband, devoted father, compassionate nurse, and true lover of life, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at the age of 54. Born in Mississippi and raised in Tennessee, Glenn's kind heart and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. He was the beloved son of Martha Jo (Harris) Denton and Willie Joe Denton. Glenn had a remarkable gift for nurturing life-both in people and in nature. Known for his green thumb, he could make any plant thrive and found peace among his flowers and greenery. Grower's Outlet was one of his favorite places, where he found joy surrounded by the beauty he loved. When he wasn't planting, Glenn was in the kitchen, baking homemade birthday cakes or preparing his famous Thanksgiving dishes-collard greens, dressing, and sweet potato soufflé-for his family. His meals were more than food; they were his expressions of love. Music was another of Glenn's passions. With his beautiful voice and impeccable taste, he filled his home with song and warmth. Glenn had an eye for quality and style-there was always a box at the front door. Whether shopping for clothes, shoes, or candles-he loved making every space feel special. He enjoyed nature shows, crime TV, tennis, and creating a home filled with comforting fragrances. A proud graduate of the University of Memphis, Glenn was an exceptional nurse admired for his compassion, professionalism, and gentle bedside manner. He treated every patient with dignity and respect, often going above and beyond without seeking recognition. His colleagues returned that same kindness in his final days, visiting daily to provide the care he had so selflessly given to others. At home, Glenn was the calm in his family's world. He made motherhood effortless for his wife, Chika, always lending a hand and showering love on their children, Candace ("Pinky") and Victor ("Boo"). Their favorite family outings were to Dave & Buster's, where laughter filled their days. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Jo and Willie Joe Denton, and siblings Debra Clements, Denise Conner, Ronnie Earl Denton, and Jody Denton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Chikanele Onyegam; cherished children, Candace and Victor; brothers, Robert Earl, Breattel, and Walter Denton; and sisters, Vera Williams and Linda Roberts. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and coworkers. In his final hours, Glenn's gentle spirit was surrounded by love. As he gazed beyond this world, he spoke softly of the beauty before him-a garden more radiant than any he had ever tended. Grasping his beloved wife Chika's hand, he emphasized to Chika with peace and certainty, "Jesus is coming back, I promise you He's coming back." A couple of hours later he passed over. Even in his passing, Glenn shared hope, love, and the promise of eternal life-leaving his family with faith and comfort that his spirit will return home to the One he believed in.
