Glenn was born January 17, 1948 to Charlie and Elma Packnett in Oakland, California. Years later, the family moved to Junction City, Oregon. After high school, Glenn joined the Army and served in the 1st Radio Research Company “Crazy Cats” out of Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. Upon his return stateside, Glenn started working in construction. He loved building things and especially loved remodeling homes. He was a jack of all trades and a very talented finish carpenter and cabinet maker. During the years when the construction industry slowed down, he worked in sales and was always a top producer. He could sell a ketchup popsicle to a person wearing white gloves lol! He truly had the gift of gab! He could start a conversation with anyone, as if he’d known them forever and could remember the name of a person he hadn’t seen in 40 years like he had just seen them yesterday.
Glenn loved the outdoors and weekend road trips with his brother Bob and their dogs. He finished his working life in construction. Glenn was diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 10 years ago and could no longer work. He fought the good fight and always had a good attitude throughout his battle with the disease. He passed away peacefully at the Oregon Veterans Home in Lebanon, Oregon on July 29th, 2025 at 1:30 pm. He is loved by many and will be missed.
He is survived by his three children, Chaney, Justin and Tara. And by his remaining siblings, Dave, Connie, Bob, George and Linda.
