Glenn Nathaniel Wilkins was the second child of the late Abraham and Lydia (Robinson) Wilkins. He was born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania on October 23, 1961. Glenn departed this life on March 2, 2025.
He attended Quaker Valley Schools in his early years and graduated from Sto-Rox Sr. High School in 1979. At Sto-Rox, Glenn was an active, record-setting member of the school's track team.
After graduation, he worked for many years at Joseph Horne's Department Store but later accepted a position at Pittsburgh Mailing where he operated mail distribution machinery for decades and was an essential team member.
Glenn spent his entire life in the Pittsburgh area and started a family in McKees Rocks with his childhood sweetheart and fiancée, the late Elaine Salters. Together, Elaine and Glenn welcomed two beloved children into the world, Cheryl Lavita and Glenn Nathaniel, Jr.
Glenn was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports, and was always attired in black and gold Steelers, Pirates, or Penguins gear. He was a favorite everywhere he went-whether at work, at his favorite bars, where he played his lottery numbers, and even at dialysis-he was a sweet, funny, welcome presence. In his spare time, you could find him watching westerns, nature shows, or, more recently, YouTube. He loved the music of Stevie Wonder and Earth, Wind & Fire. When you caught up with him all over town, you could count on Glenn for bad jokes and a charming smile!
In addition to his children, he leaves behind devoted siblings Deborah Wilkins Buford (Gordon) of Sugar Land, TX; Sanford Wilkins (Ikeva) of Pittsburgh, PA; Sharron Wilkins Conrad (Nicholas) of Dallas, TX; and Ellen Wilkins Jones (David) of Ambridge, PA. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Tiffany and Chandra.
Glenn also leaves a large group of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, second parents (Dickie and Shirley Salters), as well as a host of cousins and friends.
Whether you knew him as Glenn, G-Man, Dad, Duck, Unc, or Go-Go, family and friends loved him dearly and will miss him terribly.
Family and friends will be received for a viewing at RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1316 4th Ave., Coraopolis, PA 15108, on Friday, March 7th from 3-7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. Services will be officiated by Rev. Victor Grigsby. Burial will be held privately. If you wish to order flowers for Glenn, orders can be placed directly on the Funeral Home website or sent directly to the Funeral Home by a florist of one's choice.
