S. Earl Entwistle, 95, of Sewickley, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025 in his home surrounded by his children. He was affectionately known to many as Sam, Earl, Whistle, Dad and Poppie.

Born in Swissvale, PA on March 15, 1930 he spent the first 11 years of his life living in Barnesboro, PA before moving to Sewickley. He graduated from Sewihi in 1948 and spent the next 44 years working for the former Bell Telephone Company. In 1950 he married his high school sweetheart, the former Nancy McKelvey. They were married over 63 years and raised eight children together.

Sam was predeceased by his wife Nancy and his parents, Wilbert Sr. and Bessie Entwistle, his sister Leah Cordes and brother Wilbert Entwistle Jr. He is survived by his eight children, Sam Jr. of Saint Joseph, MO, Mark of Centerville, PA, Gail of Enfield, NH, Floyd of Middle River, MD, Chris of Sewickley, PA, Laura (Jeff) Castellini of Enfield, NH, Paul of Ambridge, PA and Casey of Ambridge, PA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, PA for all their kindness and help.

All services are private. Arrangements are entrusted to RICHARD D. COLE FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1316 4th Ave, Coraopolis, PA.
