Gloria Canales, age 72, of Victoria, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. She was born on May 17, 1952, in Alice, Texas, to the late Guadalupe Flores and Enriqueta Perez.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Gloria was the heart of her family. She shared a long and loving marriage with her husband, Orlando Canales. Together they built a strong family rooted in love, faith, and unity.
Gloria is survived by her children: Belinda Canales (Richard), Roland Canales (Jennifer), Jesse Canales (Victoria), Joe Canales Sr. (Joann), and Darren Canales (Missy), all of Victoria, TX. She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Sylvia Ramirez (Rojelio) of Benavides, TX, and Hilda Gutierrez of Brunie, TX and Brother Guadalupe Flores Jr..Gloria leaves behind 14 cherished grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Esmeralda Canales Reyes; her sister, Janie Villarreal; and her brothers, Rene Flores and Ruben Flores.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home in Victoria, TX. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m., followed by a chapel service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Canales Sr., Darren Canales, Sean Foster Jr., Joe Canales Jr., Jesse James Canales, and Joshua Canales Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Kelda Canales and Julianne Canales.
Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her quiet strength, and the warmth she brought to every life she touched. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
