Mary Georgie Herman Wagner

Mary Georgie Herman Wagner, 87, of Victoria, Texas, passed away in the presence of loved ones on October 10, 2025. She was born. On January 11, 1938, in Wied, Texas, to Frank and Ludmilla Herman. She was the second of eight children.
As a child, she would walk to school in Lavaca County, regardless of the weather. She graduated from St. Ludmila Academy in 1956 and Baldwin Business College in 1958. Upon completing, Mary worked as a bookkeeper for several small businesses in the Victoria area while also being an active member in the Catholic Daughters' Association, Altar Society, KJZT, and as a volunteer at DeTar Hospital.
She married Willie Henry Wagner on November 22, 1958. Together, they welcomed four daughters.
Mary was a sweet, kind, and giving person who was always willing to help others. She had a gentle spirit and a warm smile that made everyone feel welcome. Her faith, compassion, and love for her family and friends guided her throughout her life. She found joy in simple things-spending time with loved ones, caring for others, and giving from the heart. She was known for her 'green thumb', being able to grow beautiful plants and flowers. Her grandchildren have so many wonderful memories of time spent with her-playing in the freshly raked leaves, picking pecans, enjoying trips to McDonald's, and sipping her famous "Grandma Mary coffee."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie; her parents; her brothers, Robert Herman and Frank Herman Jr.; and her sons-in-law, David Burger and Randy Morgan.
She is survived by her four daughters, who will miss her dearly: Cindy Burger, Karen Wagner, Laura Morgan, and Jenny Bryant (Matt), and her loving companion, Lester Hoerig.
She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, Clint Burger (Chelsea), Shauna Burger, Olivia, Connor, and Garrett Boggs, Caitlin Smeltzer (Michael), Jake Morgan (Kim), Collin Morgan (Kelly), Cole, Luke, and Jess Stevenson. As well as her eleven great-grandchildren, Kara Burger, Carli and Madison Burger, Hudson and Woodson Smeltzer, Evelyn, Meredith, and Hattie Morgan, Audrey and Jude Campbell, and Azure Morgan.
She is also survived by her sisters, Anita Filip (Ronnie), Carolyn Feinsten (Richard), and Jan Saizan (Mike). Brothers Joe Herman (Georgie), John Herman (Evelyn), and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, from 5-7, at Grace Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 6:30. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on October 17, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at 3:00 pm at the Inez Catholic Cemetery.
