Gloria (Brooks) LaCourse, formerly of Lyndon, VT, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026 at the Jack Byrne Palliative and Hospice Care Center in Lebanon, NH, surrounded by family.

She was born on April 28, 1939 in Lyndon to Charles and Blanche (Davis) Brooks. She was raised in Lyndonville where she grew up with six brothers. The values instilled in her by her parents – devotion to family, strength and hard work, guided her throughout her life.

Much of her career was of necessity, initially trialing a secretarial position for the state of Vermont. She quickly realized she favored less sedentary work and chose different roles to support her family and then onto Northeast Tool until retirement. Gloria took pride in her work and approached it with commitment.

Some of the happiest times in her life were spent with her best friend, Irene Smith. Gloria was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, and crafts. Traveling to different places with her husband, Larry LaCourse also brought great memories.

She is survived by her brothers, Donnie Brooks and Larry Brooks; Her children-Susan Quimby Carrington (Ricky), Alan Quimby (Brooke S.), Robin Aldrich (Barry) and Laurie Roth (Rob). Grandchildren – Jessica Carrington, Adam Quimby, Ashley Quimby, Nicole Midkiff, Tyler Midkiff, Brandon, and Samantha White. Great grandchildren – Kyleigh, Asher, Maverick, Wyatt, Orion, Bella, Addison, Anderson, and Autti. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence LaCourse in 2007, her parents in 1999 and her brothers Francis, Raymond, Ronald and Norman.

There will be a graveside service at Hillside Cemetery in West Burke, Vermont on June 19, 2026 at 2 PM.
