Leo W. Lacourse, of Lyman, died on December 31, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1933, in Biddeford, the son of Oscar and Almina (Perreault) Lacourse.
He was educated in Biddeford schools and was a parishioner of St. Philip's Church in Lyman. Leo served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, serving as Captain in the Heavy Weapons Co.
On January 21, 1956, he married Raymonde Morissette at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. They were married for 69 years.
Leo was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight for two years. He volunteered for 28 years in the Town of Lyman as a baseball coach, manager, and caretaker of two baseball fields.
He worked as a lumberjack in the Maine woods for over 10 years, was employed for 22 years at Saco Tanning Corporation, and later worked for 16 years at West Point Stevens in Biddeford. He retired in 1996. He was an active member of St. Philip's Church, serving on its building committee, as well as Eucharistic Minister and Usher. In retirement, he worked seasonally at Wells Beach and also served as a part-time assessor for the Town of Lyman for eight years.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Richard Lacourse; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Lacourse; one grandchild; four brothers; and five sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Raymonde Lacourse; his son, Pierre Lacourse of Lyman; his son, Philip Lacourse and his wife, Felecia, of Westbrook; his son, Raymond Lacourse and his wife, Stephanie, of Newfield; his daughter, Doris Hicks and her husband, Roger, of Hollis; his daughter, Denise Wentworth and her husband, Jeff, of Sanford; his daughter, Crystal Normand and her husband, Jeremy, of North Berwick; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Philip's Church in Lyman.
