In Loving Memory of Gloria LeBlanc
New Iberia - Private services were held for Gloria LeBlanc, 78, who passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Born in Alice, Texas, the youngest of thirteen to Manuel y Refugia Gonzalez, Gloria LeBlanc arrived with a quiet voice and a sharp wit. People always leaned in, waiting for her to bust their bubble — and somehow, she made you laugh while doing it.
She was a giving mother, a fiercely loving grandmother, and a woman who lived her life on a solid foundation of right and wrong. She wore wisdom like a second skin.
Gloria held many titles throughout her life: electrical bookkeeper, land surveyor, housekeeper, disciplinarian, and wisecracking confidante. With her unique “Glo-isms,” her unforgettable humor, and the way she loved so hard without asking anything in return, she left every room warmer (and a little more honest) than she found it.
She raised a daughter, Angelina Scroggs (Companion: John Eric Rabalais) and a son, Lance LeBlanc (Spouse: Janna LeBlanc) in New Iberia, LA and gave them a world rich in values. Her love and wisdom also extended to her two grandchildren — Brie Castro (Spouse: Sam Castro) and Matthew LeBlanc — and in her final years, she took joy in the bright energy of two great-grandchildren, Marie and Henry Castro, who lovingly called her “Gigi.”
Her name was Gloria, Glo for short, but her true language was love — expressed through sacrifice, hard work, belly laughs, and quiet, steady presence.
We will miss her endlessly. But her voice, her lessons, and her love are burned into our souls, and they will echo through us, and after us, forever.
