Gloria Padgett Major, 72, passed away on October 24, 2025, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia, Georgia. She was a remarkable individual whose presence illuminated the lives of those around her.

She was born on February 20, 1953, in Reidsville, Georgia, to Doy and Alma Martin Padgett. 

Gloria was known for her outspoken and vibrant personality, which endeared her to friends and family alike. She resided in Pennsylvania for 25 years and co-owned and operated C Major Sports Bar in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania, for 15 years. After returning to Reidsville, Gloria was employed with Optim Hospital in Reidsville, Georgia, where she continued to extend her compassionate nature to those in need.

Gloria's interests and hobbies reflected her caring spirit. She dedicated much of her time to taking care of others, always ready to lend a helping hand and loved cooking. Her home was often filled with warmth and laughter, as she cherished moments spent with friends and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clyde Major, sons, Lenoard Martin Butry, Jr, Nicholas Kamage, Jr., siblings, JoAnn Thompson, Edwin Padgett, Jaquelyn Oliver, Joyce Padgett and Jerry Padgett.

Gloria is survived by:

Children, Justin Butry of Lyons, Georgia
Karma Butry of Statesboro, Georgia

Brother, Johnny Padgett (Melissa) of Milledgeville, Georgia

Niece, Melody Shipes 

Nephew, Mike Thompson

Numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2025 at Reidsville City Cemetery.
