Glynda Floores Hoffman, age 70, of Bastrop, Texas, passed away on October 1, 2025 in peace to be with her Lord and Savior.
She was born Glynda Marie Hoffman in Austin, Texas on July 6, 1955, and was lovingly raised alongside her three siblings by Charles Leo, Sr. and Pauline Hoffman on Leo Street. Glynda attended Crockett High School in Austin and was proud to earn her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from LeTourneau University in 2017.
Glynda dedicated most of her career to the care of children with special needs, beginning with being a group home foster parent for Arrow Project where she provided daily care to 21 medically fragile and handicapped children over eight years. From 1998 to 2019, she served as a Special Education Para-Professional for the Round Rock, Hutto and Leander school districts. After receiving her degree and teacher certification, she served as a Special Education Teacher for Georgetown Independent School District and a Life Skills Teacher at Bastrop Independent School District, retiring in 2023.
After enjoying retirement for a couple years, in typical Glynda fashion, she was ready for her next adventure! She was hired in 2025 by the Lower Colorado River Authority as a Parks Customer Service Representative in Bastrop, where she was able to combine her love of the outdoors and helping (and talking!) to people.
Glynda is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Charles and Pauline Hoffman.
Glynda loved her family more than anything, and will be forever missed by those she leaves behind:
Her siblings, Charles Leo Hoffman, Jr. and wife Gayla, Martha Hoffman Moore and husband Tommy LaFrance, Floyd Darrell Hoffman and wife Patty.
Her children, Dan David Seeds, Jr. and wife April, Darrell Douglas Seeds and wife Catherine, Laura Marie Ivey and husband Robert, Zachary Thomas Floores, Mark Casey Floores and Stephen Taylor Floores.
Her grandchildren, Chase Lodge Nordling, Tristan Blake Seeds, Madeline Pauline Seeds, Gabriela Marie Seeds, Emmalyn Nicole Ivey, Cameron Lee Ivey, Nolan Christopher Robert Seeds, Eos Astreus Peace, and (expected in December) Ozias Peace.
Her great grandchildren, Harper Lynn Nordling, Hudson Ray Nordling and Haisley Ann Rudy.
She will also be missed by her numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, grand nephews and nieces and great grand nephews and nieces.
Affectionately known as Glynda Marie to so many, she had a personality and a heart as big and wide as Texas. She never met a stranger and anyone who met her always left with a lasting impression of her. Glynda loved fiercely and never turned anyone away, humans and animals, who needed a helping hand. She loved dancing, being outdoors, making arts and crafts, cooking big meals, decorating for Christmas and traveling. She was the best storyteller, with most of her stories being about a crazy or funny thing that could only happen to her!
She was a mother to so many, not only to her six children, but to hundreds of others throughout her life.
Most of all, she loved spending time with friends and family. She would always say she was “having a moment” to snapshot a time or occasion that made her happy. Glynda’s spirit and memories live on in all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers at a later celebration of life, donations may be made in Glynda’s honor to Feed the Need of Bastrop County. FeedtheNeed.org
